FAQ

What type of photographer are you?

How do I prepare myself and or family for a photo session?

What type of photographer are you?

I consider my style to be BOLD, true to life and semi-light airy side. I am a people-centered photographer. I shoot on location (I do not own or operate a studio). I love to work with that dreamy, creamy, gleamy natural light!

Can I have the RAW files?

How do I prepare myself and or family for a photo session?

What type of photographer are you?

This is a hot topic. One that lots of clients ask for without knowing what they are really asking for. I will not give my RAW files, and this is why - RAW files are unedited and therefore are not an

accurate representation of my brand. I want to deliver my absolute best work. Unedited RAW files do not meet my standard of excellence. Photographers edit and culling (narrowing down and selecting the best pictures from your session) your RAW files. We spend hours upon hours in post processing (that is what you paid for). A photographer's work is not done after they shoot your session. There's much more work to be done to the RAW files for the photographer to produce the images that you anticipated and paid for. RAW files are not universally compatible and require specific software to open or even view them. Your photos will be high resolution and professionally edited for generations to love, reminisce, and enjoy.

How do I prepare myself and or family for a photo session?

1. Pick a location (I have suggestions if needed)  2. At least a week prior try to have outfits picked (this will eliminate any stress the day of) and most of all feel comfortable in your outfit choice 3. Talk to your kidos about what we are going to do and consider a reward afterwards. Make it fun and exciting for them! 4. Think about anything you may want to incorporate and pack a small bag/backpack to tote with you while on location (these items could include a blanket and any props you would like to try to incorporate). 5. EAT at least an hour prior to your session 6. Make sure the whole family hits the restroom before leaving 7. Be sure to bring some snacks, formula/milk and bottled water (for after the session). 8. Ditch the gum, lose the hair ties around the wrists, if we are headed outdoors, spray yourself and the family with some bug spray (this is FLORIDA). 9. PLEASE be on time. 10. Get excited for these pictures! Let's make some memories!

How long have you been doing Photography?

How do I prepare myself and or family for a photo session?

I picked up my first professional-grade camera as a serious hobbyist and started studying in 2019 just after the birth of my 2nd son. I then started to educate myself during 2020 and will continue my education indefinitely. Photography is a slow brew and an evolving educational wheel of learning that has no end. The creative inspiration behind what I choose to capture was always there but, to my surprise, it's not as simple as picking up a camera and just hitting the shutter button! Adjust one setting and you have to know the science behind the gears and light inside of your camera to adjust the others to capture your style and get the correct exposure for your pictures. After a session, you then have the post-processing. All of which takes constant learning and education.

What if it rains?

What about cancellations?

Let's keep in mind this is Florida!

I will call off the session the day before or the day of. I try to be as courteous to my client's schedules as possible. In the event, there is rain we will reschedule. Please note that there are times a rain spout does pop up out of nowhere. If this happens, we will need to reschedule. I do understand what an inconvenience this can be when you are already headed out to the session therefore I like to be fully communitive throughout the entire process. The last thing I want to do is reschedule a session but, when Mother Nature is unpredictable, I have to do what’s in the best interest of our session and time together.

What about cancellations?

What about cancellations?

If you need to cancel a session please give me at least 48 hours notice. Also, keep in mind your retainer fee is a non-refundable retainer. Should you cancel the session it is transferable to another date, This reschedule/date is good for 12 months after cancellation. I will reschedule you upon request as soon as I have the availability. Taking money from my clients for not doing any work is NOT what I want to do. Please understand my schedule is busy and my time is important too.

How to prepare for a photoshoot with children?

Pictures tell a story... your story! I love taking pictures of these cute little baby loves! They tell the best stories. This can be a little tricky though if the HANGRY struggle kicks in (this goes for the dads too)  LOL. Please make sure that bellies are full and snacks are on deck for the car ride and ride home. I do encourage if your child/children are still taking naps or under the age of 4 that they take a well-rested nap prior to transit to the destination of the session. This way they dont wake up to the door opening and a stranger taking their pictures. If they nap while at home and are awake for the car ride they won't have that shock factor. Tell them what we will be doing, and make it sound exciting! Make this an exciting time for them – consider a reward/something fun afterwards. Most importantly remember to just enjoy your family. Let

this be a time that you have fun with each other, tell silly stories during the session, and laugh a lot! Down the road, it won’t matter nearly as much if you were having a bad hair day that day, or if your kido/s were not listening well. You will look back on these pictures and remember this moment in

time, and how quickly it went. If your kid/s have something that makes them calm or more comfortable such as a blankie or a stuffed animal and YOU DON'T CARE about having this item in your pictures please bring said item. :)

What should we wear?

1. Choose your palette first.

Examples:

Denim and Tan

Brown and Maroon

Denim, Yellow, Crimson

Navy, Tan, Cream

Glitter and White

Red, Grey, Black

Navy and Crimson

Blush and Teal

Blush and White

Light Blue, Tan, White

Navy, Yellow, White

Tan and White

Orange and Teal

Light Blue, Tan, White

Blue, Green, Yellow

2. Don’t match. Coordinate. Start with your youngest child and pull colors from their outfit for the rest of the family. Couples should do the same but pull colors from the woman's outfit for him.

3. Add POPS of color

4. At-home lifestyle newborn sessions use more neutral solid colors and pull in some colors from your home interior.

5. Stay away from stripes, buzy patterns  and polka dots. These do not photgraph well and cause chromatic aberration.

6. Wear something you feel good in!
